Five day training program on GST (Goods and Service tax) organised by the National Academy of Custom, Excise and Narcotics concluded today under the aegis of Harish Chandra Mathur Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration, Udaipur chapter.

National Academy of Custom, Excise and Narcotics operates under the Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

Subject matter experts explained miscellaneous provision of GST Model Law.  Extensive discussions were held on practical implementation of technical aspects under the Law.

Additional Director NACEC, Vinita Bohra, who was the course Director of the Training program said that the unique aspect of the training program was that 50 representatives from Bhilwara, Kota and Udaipur of both Central and State Governments, from the Commercial Taxes Department and Excise and Customs Department participated.

Chief Guest, Dr. BP Sharma, President, Pacific University in his address said that GST is an improved version of the Tax regime and also expressed his views on this form of revenue generation for the center and state.  He also laid stress on the inclusion, participation and support of business houses in smooth implementation of the new regime.  Dr Sharma added that in the current global economy, the growth of the Indian economy will be accelerated by the implementation of GST.

Special Guest at the program, Rishi Mohan Yadav who is the Joint Commissioner of CBSE, Jaipur division also expressed his views, saying that a phased implementation of GST will be a mile stone towards improving various aspects of the Indian economy.

Deputy Commissioner (Administration) Commercial Taxes Department, Pragya Kewalramani in her concluding address announced that this training program was the first stage in the training schedule and two more such programs will be held in the near future.

Other eminent personalities present at the conclusion event were Joint Commissioner Commercial Taxes Department, SD Meena and Naresh Bundel, Joint Commissioner CBSE.  The program was coordinated by Hemant Chauhan and key note address was delivered by Dr. Nitu Bhardwaj.
