Udaipur, February 14: Udaipur will soon welcome its first planetarium. A decision to this effect was taken at the general meeting of Udaipur Development Authority, which was held on Friday, February 14 in the UDA auditorium at Udaipur, under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kewalramani. The meeting was attended by the District Collector Namit Mehta along with other administration officials.
Among the other points discussed in the meeting, the matter on the Planetarium, which was a part of state government's budget announcement for the year 2023, was also taken up. The planetarium will be established on the lines of Science City in Udaipur. Students will get access to a huge reservoir of information and simulation on facts related to space and the solar system.
The budget allocation for the planetrarium was Rs 13 Cr, of which 7.40Cr will be being borne from the state share under the SPOCS guidelines of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Of this, Rs 5 crore has already been released. In the meeting, it was also decided to transfer the remaining Rs 2.40 crore, so that the work of the planetarium can be done on time.
Trainee IAS Madhav Bhardwaj, UDA OSD Jitendra Ojha, Land Acquisition Officer Bindubala Rajawat, Additional Chief Engineer of PWD Ashok Kumar Sharma, Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Kumar, NHAI Project Director Harischandra, UDA Accountant Khushboo Ameta, Deputy City Planner Virendra Singh Parihar, AVVNL XEN Vrinda Dwivedi, Deputy Commissioner Devasthan Jatin Kumar Gandhi etc. were present in the meeting.
