PNG Connections in Udaipur to Be Issued Within 48 Hours
Authorities in Udaipur direct CGD and oil companies to issue PNG gas connections within 48 hours in pipeline-ready areas; meeting held to boost PNG adoption
Udaipur, March 27, 2026 - Following the directions issued during a video conference convened by the Principal Secretary of the Food & Civil Supplies Department and in compliance with the instructions given by District Collector Namit Mehta, a joint meeting was held on Thursday at 4:30 pm with the District Logistics Officer, Udaipur, District Coordinator of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and representatives of City Gas Distributors (CGD).
The District Logistics Officer highlighted the shortage of commercial LPG cylinders and the increasing pressure on available stock. OMCs were directed to immediately provide lists of industrial and commercial establishments using registered commercial cylinders so they can be shifted to PNG connections. CGD representatives were asked to facilitate this transition.
District Logistics Officer Srishti Dabas instructed CGD representatives to provide route maps for faster implementation. It was also directed that areas where pipelines are already functional should be prioritised, and PNG connections must be issued within the next 48 hours.
CGD representative Dhaval informed that PNG gas supply is currently active in areas like Pratap Nagar, Chitrakoot Nagar, Shobhagpura, New Bhupalpura, Raghunathpura, New RTO, Keshav Nagar, New Ashok Nagar, Khara Kuan, Bhuvana, Bedla, Badgaon, New Navratan Complex, Sukher, Mangalam Complex, Tulsi Nagar, Dhuni Mata, Udaipur Cement Works and Gudli Industrial Area.
OMCs District Coordinator Shlok Gupta assured that lists of industrial and commercial establishments would be provided by the evening. Based on this, CGD will issue connections at a faster pace.
It was also informed that CGD has already provided 3000 domestic, 10 commercial and 1 industrial PNG connections in these areas.
The District Logistics Officer emphasised the need for awareness campaigns through newspapers and pamphlets and directed CGD to regularly report progress for updates to the District Collector and higher authorities.
Also present in the meeting were Ankush Bhargava, Sales Officer HPCL, Dhawal Roop Chandani, Adani Gas, Udaipur, Shreyash Sharma, Piyush Singh Vebhav Dadhich, Assistant Manager Adani Gas.
