For stringent security arrangements in the city on the occasion of New Year 2015 celebrations, police has marked 78 locations inside the city that will be under vigil surveillance.

Along with installing quick response team in every police stations of the city, hotels and other venues of new year eve celebration will be under the close watch of the police.

SP, Ajaypal Lamba informs that, “78 marked places will be under vigil surveillance and 12 spots will have armed policemen on duty. Instant actions will be taken against any misconduct.”

AdSP HQ Hanuman Prasad told UT that along with this, all the restaurants and hotels situated near lake side will be thoroughly checked. Also, for their security, a boat comprising of 2 armed policemen will be patrolling the area. Since last 2 months these 2 policemen are surveying the area and securing the hotels and restaurants near Lake Pichola.

Also, policemen will circle spots of celebrations in civilian dress.
