Police to now issue Challans to Riders without Helmets

After a month long campaign of spreading awareness of wearing helmets while driving two-wheel vehicle, the police in collaboration with Traffic and Transportation department, Udaipur is commencing the compulsion of helmets from Tuesday onward.

After a month long campaign of spreading awareness of wearing helmets while driving two-wheel vehicle, the police in collaboration with Traffic and Transportation department, Udaipur is commencing the compulsion of helmets from Tuesday onward.

With an increase in road accidents and deaths due to negligence of drivers to wear helmets had been the biggest factor of the police to take such initiative. The fine of the defaulters has been decided from Rs. 100 to Rs. 2,000.

The following rules will have to be followed, the violation of which would incur strict actions:

  • Driving two-wheeler without a helmet.
  • Using mobile phone while driving.
  • Driving with a scarf wrapped around the head.
  • Infringement of the traffic rules.
  • Using another person’s license and driving.
  • Taking the wrong side for the vehicle to enter.

SP Ajaypal Lamba and Deputy Traffic Police Rajaram Meena have given the instructions to the traffic police to follow these acts and take strict actions against those who are found to be breaking the law.
