To ascertain the level of pollution in the city and the present weather, display boards will be set up at prime circles of the city. Besides, Air Quality Monitoring Stations will also be established.

Pollution Control Board’s Chairperson Arpana Arora informed that the National Thermal power Corporation (NTPC) will install these stations by March 2016 in the city. For this, an MoU has been signed between the Board and NTPC.

For the construction  of an Air Station with all the equipment the estimated budget will be of Rs. 1.25 Crore while a display board will be established at cost of Rs. 10 lac.

The display board will have information including the levels of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, ozone, carbon monoxide, benzene and ammonia. Even the general public will be able to gauge the level of air pollution in the city. Also, the weather report will be displayed.
