Principal Secretary Inaugurates city’s First Heritage Walk

G.S. Sandhu, Principal Secretary of Rajasthan State Government, inaugurated the first heritage walk in inner parts of old city areas today. As part of this heritage walk the tourists will be able to avail a guided tour at nominal prices.

As part of this heritage walk the tourists will be able to avail a guided tour at nominal prices. As part of his visit, G.S. Sandhu took first step along the heritage walk in areas on Jagdish Chowk, Bhatiyani Chowta, Kasaro Ka Nora, City Palace Road, Baghour Ki Haveli and Ghangaur Ghat. For this route, Municipal Corporation has also organized for transportation in association with Krishna Tours & Travels. According to Rajni Dangi, Mayor, UMC, as part of the guided tour of heritage walk, tourists will be briefed about various heritages of town, given a guide book, a note pad and a Jute bag. The cost of this tour has been set at Rs.200, all inclusive. The two hours tour will be organised twice daily from 8 am-10 am and 5pm-7 pm. Principal Secretary Inaugurates city’s First Heritage Walk Mayor also added that on the occasion, Principal Secretary, himself, took a walk along with officials of UMC and UIT. Post the walk, G.S Sandhu unveiled posters of Heritage Walk and a Book. The book incorporates findings from workshop, held in February, on Strategy for heritage based sustainable development of Udaipur. Notably, the workshop was carried out by French students during their visit to Udaipur. Later, in his address to officials of UMC and UIT, Sandhu gave indications of possible approval of the over bridge at Pratap Nagar. He also gave hope of some bigger approvals from State Government regarding the much talked about parking problem in the city.
