Private Bus Owners Protest over State Transport Department's Regulation
To improve the transportation facility in the rural areas, a meeting was conducted today by Rajasthan Roadways at Nimbark College in which officials from State Transport Department and affiliated private bus owners participated. But the meeting ended with disagreements and ruckus by private bus owners.

The meeting was conducted to implement certain directions under PPP (Public Private Partnership) which private owners refused to accept.
As per the directions, ticket price will be equivalent to that in general class in government buses, private bus owners will not be able to increase the prices, buses will run on selected routes, bus maintenance, driver’s salary and fuel cost will be borne by the owner, not more than 10 standing passengers will be allowed in a bus, Roadways will provide Rs. 9.32/ km for every bus etc.
President of Bus Operators Association Kamalsingh Chaudhary said, “The the rules laid down by the government will not benefit us in any way. They have started the buses on the routes where several city buses are already working”.
