During the Question Hour today in the State Assembly, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mangilal Garasia informed that the detailed proposal for development of Sports Academy in Udaipur has already been sent to the Central Government.

Garasia said that they have selected the land for the academy and have sent the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to Centre. He added that state government will take appropriate steps once they get approval from the central government.

It should be acknowledged that the establishment of Sports Academy in Udaipur was announced in the Budget for the fiscal year 2012-13.

About the other related budgetary measures, Garasia said that the grants for the talented players and trainers have been increased ten folds. “We are processing the award grant of various sports winners who achieved success at various levels in the last fiscal”, he added.
