Protest rally of court employees-Strike continues

On the 12th day of strike, court employees carried out a protest rally in the city. Working of court has come to a standstill in the past 12 days.

To give more force to the protest regarding demands concerning 7th Pay commission, the staff carried out a protest rally on Monday. All employees driving two-wheelers formed a round-about on Chetak circle. During this activity, there was a scene of traffic jam on the circle. The protest will carry on even today i.e Tuesday as declared by the staff.

The protest rally of the employees led by District head Bhanwar Maroo and Niranjan Sharma started in court premises. From here the rally covered Delhi Gate, Town Hall road, Surajpole, Bapu Bazar to Ashwini Bazar, Hathipole and reached Chetak Circle. The protest rally halted at Chetak Circle. Here the staff formed human chain and covered the circle forming a round-about. Traffic in this area came to a halt for almost 15 minutes. The staff did a show-down against State government and then returned to the court.

An assembly was held in the court premises. Om Prakash Shrimali of Rajasthan State Employees Association Integrated, Bhanwar Maroo, Niranjan Sharma, General Secretary Kapil Dev Ameta, Vishal Gadia, Sanjay Kothari, Purushottam Sharma, Hemant Vyas and a few others addressed the assembly. The speakers expressed their anger and frustration that Rajasthan Government and Rajasthan High Court are purposely not abiding by the orders of Supreme Court. The judicial officers are getting paid as per Shetty Pay Commission for the last 3 years. The insincere attitude of the State government towards the court’s employees is causing disappointment to the employees.
