Organisations and Institutions registered with the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will now have to process their monthly contributions through Internet Banking.  This has been mandatory vide a circular from the EPF Head Office on 22nd June, informed Arun Kumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner – II, Sub Regional Office, EPFO, Udapur. As per the Circular, the Ministry of HRD and Labour had announced in their decision on 5th May, that all participants to the EPF must make their contribution online. Till date contributions have been made using cheques and demand drafts, which at times, due to Banking procedural delays result in penalties for the contributing organisations.  Now with contributions being facilitated online, procedural delays will be mitigated and Interest will be calculated immediately. Sub Regional Office Udaipur has confirmed that with immediate effect, the procedures have been effected by offices at Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Chittor, Pratapgarh, Banswara, Dungarpur and Udaipur.
