Rajasthan Chief Secretary Launches Preview of IIAS Governance Index in Athens
Index assesses 164 countries across six governance pillars using 50 indicators and eight data sources
UdaipurTimes, October 15, 2026 - Rajasthan Chief Secretary and president of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), V Srinivas, launched the preview of the IIAS Governance Index at the IASIA 2026 Conference in Athens, Greece, on Thursday, October 15.
The index assesses governance in 164 countries across six pillars, drawing on 50 indicators and eight data sources. It aims to provide a global reference for understanding the performance of public institutions and identifying areas for improvement.
The dedicated IIAS research project has been developed under the leadership of president Srinivas, with Dr Marco De la Cruz, Scientific Director of IIAS, undertaking the assessment. The initiative seeks to support informed discussion on governance reforms and strengthen IIAS’s contribution to the global governance agenda.
The Athens preview introduces the framework ahead of the index’s formal launch at the IIAS 2026 Conference in Seoul, where the complete methodology, findings and country comparisons are scheduled to be presented.
