Rajasthan Govt Rolls Out LPG Relief for Weddings
The State Government offers LPG relief for wedding families in April; urban families to get three cylinders, rural to get two; learn how to apply
April 8, 2026 - The Rajasthan government has taken an initiative to provide relief to families organising weddings in April in the midst of the ongoing LPG shortage and has made it mandatory for PSU oil companies to provide commercial LPG cylinders to them. Under this provision, families in urban areas will be eligible to receive three commercial LPG cylinders, while those in rural areas will be eligible for two commercial cylinders (19 kg each).
To avail of this benefit, applicants must submit an application along with a wedding invitation card to the District Supply Officer.
This decision was announced by the State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara after a review meeting held on Tuesday (April 7) which was attended by officials from gas companies. The Minister directed gas companies to ensure the availability of these cylinders.
"We have allotted three 19kg cylinders for urban areas. It means around 57kg and equivalent to almost four domestic cylinders. Considering the number of marriage days available in the next two to three months, the PSUs can easily make the supplies available," Godara said.
This initiative has been taken by the government to also ensure that domestic gas cylinders are not used for large ceremonies.
Additionally, the Minister said that domestic LPG cylinder supply is currently being maintained within 4-5 days.
