Major IAS Reshuffles in Rajasthan: Gaurav Agrawal Appointed as District Collector of Udaipur
Gaurav is a 2014 Batch IAS Officer and was the District Collector of Jodhpur when the transfers were announced
Udaipur, April 01, 2026: The Personnel Department of the Government of Rajasthan announced major IAS reshuffles early morning on April 01. Gaurav Agrawal, a 2014 batch IAS Officer and currently the District Collector of Jodhpur, has been appointed as the District Collector of Udaipur. He will take over office from Namit Mehta, who has been appointed Excise Commissioner at Udaipur. Despite being posted in Udaipur, Namit Mehta will oversee the Excise operations of the entire Rajasthan.
About Gaurav Agrawal, District Collector & DM, Udaipur
Gaurav Agrawal is a 2014 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS Officer. He topped the UPSC charts n 2014. He holds a BTech in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur and Post Graduation in Finance from IIM Lucknow. He cracked the JEE at the age of 16 and secured 45th AIR, and later cracked the CAT with 99.9 percentile. He became an IAS Officer at the age of 30. Prior to his recent posting as District Collector of Udaipur, Gaurav has lent his services as Collector of Jodhpur , Chittorgarh and Tonk. He has also held administrative posts in Ajmer, Karauli, Pali, Mt Abu, Mussourie and Jhalawar.
The Rajasthan government, announced a major reshuffle in the early hours of April 01 2026, making 65 IAS transfers.
Administrative Changes in Udaipur:
1. Gaurav Agrawal appointed District Collector and District Magistrate of Udaipur.
2. Namit Mehta transferred to Excise Department as Commissioner.
3. Rahul Jain, Chairman of Udaipur Develoement Authority (UDA) appointed Commisioner of Jodhpur Municipal Corporation.
4. Kanhaiya Lal, Commissioner TAD Udaipur transferred to Jodhpur as Divisional Commissioner.
5. Nakate Shivprasad Madan, Excie Commissioner at Udaipur transferred to Jaipur as Managing Director of Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd.
6. Laxmi Narayan Mantri, has been appointed as Commissioner TAD and Devasthan departments at Udaipur.
7. Riya Dabi, CEO 0f Zila Parishad Udaipur appointed OSD to Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
Administrative Changes in Mewar Region:
1. Mrs. Shubham Chaudhary appointed District Collector and DM, Pratapgarh.
2. Erstwhile Collector of Pratapgarh, Mrs. Anjali Rajoriya transferred to Jaipur as Joint Secretary of Home Department.
3. Ankit Kumar Singh, District Collector of Dungarpur transferred to Falaudi as Dist Collector and DM.
4. Deshal Dan appointed District Collector of Dungarpur.
5. Dr. Manu appointed District Collector and DM of Chittorgarh.
6. Dr. Avdhesh Meena, Dist Collector of Salumber transferred to Didwana - Kuchaman as Collector.
7. Muhammad Junaid PP appointed Dist Collector of Salumber.
8. Akshat Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bhilwara, transferred as OSD to Chief Minister.
