Rajasthan Police: Security Audit of Major Tourist Sites by Sept 30

Sept 3, 2026 - Rajasthan Police has taken steps towards preparing a comprehensive action plan to further strengthen the safety and convenience of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the State, as well as devotees visiting religious sites. Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma chaired an important meeting of senior officers of the Police and Tourism Departments at Police Headquarters on Wednesday, September 2, and ordered to take steps to make tourists’ journeys safe, simple and convenient.
The officers, present at the meeting, discussed the issues, e.g., security of tourist destinations, traffic management, Tourist Assistance Force (TAF), tourist police stations, CCTV coverage, tourist assistance booths and emergency medical facilities.
DGP Sharma directed that, on the lines of the security audit recently conducted at Amer, security audits of all major tourist destinations across the State be completed by September 30. He said that security at tourist spots should be maintained throughout the year.
The DGP directed the Police, district administration and Devasthan Department to ensure crowd management and other arrangements through mutual coordination at major religious tourist destinations, including Khatushyamji, Mehandipur Balaji, Salasar Balaji, Ramdevra, Gogamedi, Pushkar, Shrinathji and Sanwariyaji. He emphasised strengthening TAF at tourist sites and install standees at prominent locations displaying police control room numbers, Police Helpline 112, RajCop Citizen App and other useful links. Necessary information are to be displayed at airports through posters, banners, standees and LED displays.
He suggested engaging young people, who have completed courses in foreign languages, as language experts. More CCTV cameras, medical facilities and women police personnel are to be made available and emergency medical facilities for tourists to be arranged.
The DGP also emphasised increasing the number of tourist police stations and police personnel and imparting adequate training to them.
