Rajasthan Police Sets Up 24x7 Help Cell for Indians Stranded in Nepal

Udaipur, Sept 10, 2025 - Rajasthan Police has taken significant initiatives to assist Indian citizens stranded in Nepal following the unrest in the country triggered by the death of 19 people in police firing on September 8. On the directions of Director General of Police Rajeev Sharma, a special cell has been established at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) to provide 24x7 support to affected individuals and their families.

Superintendent of Police Govardhan Lal Sokariya has been appointed in charge of this special cell. Three police officers have been assigned to round-the-clock duty to ensure continuous support.

The special cell has issued helpline numbers 0141-2740832 and 0141-2741807 for the public. Additionally, a WhatsApp and public helpline number 97849-42702 has been made available to offer immediate assistance.

Meanwhile, more than 35 people from Udaipur are currently stranded in Nepal, including the family of BJP leader Anil Singhal.

One of the stranded individuals, Bhagwatilal Menaria, shared his experience, saying, “We had completed our visit to the Pashupatinath Temple, but as soon as we returned to the hotel and were preparing for our next plan, we received news that unrest had broken out and it had become difficult to step outside. For a moment, we were all very scared.”

He further added, “Within no time, the atmosphere across Nepal changed completely. So, we decided it was safer to stay inside the hotel rather than risk going out. We’re still here and are in continuous contact with the Indian Embassy. There are also people from Jaipur and Bhilwara here.”

Menaria also informed that a group of 31 members from Udaipur is safe in a hotel in Kathmandu, including people from Paneriyon ki Madri and Kharbariya.
