Rani Padmawati to stand 9ft tall in Udaipur
The protests and nationwide drama over the film, "Padmawati" distorting historical facts, has given fuel to the situation and the political parties are all set to take full mileage over the situation, facts not withstanding, say sources
With the ongoing national storm over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic “Padmawati“, the local government is all set to woo the Rajput vote bank in the state.
As per media reports, a quick meeting was organised by the Home Ministrer Gulab Chand Kataria with the sculptors last month, to look into designing and manufacturing statues of famous Rajput personalities of the state, viz. Rana Lumbha, Panna Tai, Bappa Rawal, Kesari Singh and Vijay Singh Pathik. This was in line with the orders given by the Vasundhra government in 2016.
Over the last two year, there was no follow up on the order, and now, in the wake of the Padmawati situation, the folks have been taken out of their slumber. As per reports a 9ft statue is planned to be built and setup in Udaipur, which shows the Rajput queen walking toward the Jauhar.
