RK Circle becomes a drivers nightmare | Has UIT built illegal Parking on Thoroughfare?

Its been quite a few weeks now that the shops and eateries cropping up around RK Circle (between Fatehpura and Celebration Mall) have begun to result in a nightmare for drivers traversing through the circle.

Be it on the road leading to Fatehpura, to Celebration Mall, to Sobhagpura or even to the new 100ft road that has recently come up, cars and three wheelers are parked all over, without giving any thought that the roads are thoroughfare and not a parking area.

Around 30 shops have come up around the RK Circle, which include eateries and fast food joints, Pan shops, juice corners and coffee shops.  Visitors to these joints freely park their vehicles out side these Pan Shops and eateries without giving an iota of thought to the passing vehicles.

It becomes even more alarming when these vehicles are parked straight on the roads that are thorooughfare.  Speeding cars and heavy vehicles in the area (as this is a highway linked roundabout) are bound to result in some fatal accident, causing damage to property or life.

A few of our readers, who have been following up on this matter with the police station at Fatehpura, were told that the area does not come under their jurisdiction.  On approaching the Sukher police station, they did not recieve any comforting response or even a willingness to come to the area and have look.  During day time when heavy vehicles ply on the road, leading to Fatehpura and the industrial area, the roudnabout is chocabloc with parked vehicles of those visiting these eateries.

During night, when visiblity is anyways lower, the number of vehicles increase due to a higher number of visitors to these shops. No arrangements for structure parking (parking spots or shoulder lines) are available in the area.  Police will not worry about this matter unless the UIT, which is responsible for the maintenance in that area coordinates with them and makes it organised.

UdaipurTimes is in talks with authorities hoping for corrective action.
