UDA begins construction of a new road from Khanjipeer to Haridas Ji Ki Magri to reduce traffic congestion in Dudh Talai, Samorbagh and surrounding tourist areas

Udaipur, Jan 16, 2026 - City MLA Tarachand Jain on Thursday (January 15) inspected the ongoing construction work for a new road from Haridas Ji Ki Magri to Khanjipeer and emphasised quick completion of the project. He directed officials to fix shortcomings identified at the construction site and also inspected the parking area being developed in front of Brahmpol Masjid. He instructed officials to widen the culvert along the road and construct footpaths on both sides using gravel.

The inspection was carried out in the presence of Ambedkar Mandal president Ranjit Singh Digpal, former Mandal president Rajesh Vaishnav, BJP leader Balveer Singh Digpal and former councillor Madan Dave along with Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) officials.

Once the new road work is complete, traffic congestion will ease, particularly at Dudh Talai. The new road will connect Khanjipeer, Samor Bagh, Dudh Talai, Jalburj and Haridas Ji Ki Magri. Mulla Talai often faces traffic congestion owing to narrow roads and heavy traffic. The road expansion work, following the acquisition of land near Trident, will solve this problem.

Previously, tourists had to pass through the city to reach Sajjangarh from Dudh Talai, which led to traffic jams at Dudh Talai, Gulab Bagh, Chetak Circle and Fateh Sagar. Now, the new road will act as a ring road allowing direct commute from Dudh Talai to Sajjangarh.  And residents of Sisarama, Nai and Govardhan areas will also benefit.
