Taking strict action against road romeos and for providing a safer environment for women in Udaipur, District Police is now initiating a campaign of live policing. Under this plan, if Police spots any road romeos passing lewd comments or eve-teasing women, then they will first thrash the accused on the spot and then take them into custody.

This initiative was started by SP Rajendra Goyal after receiving suggestions from citizens on social media. Readers may note that on Thursday night SP Rajendra Goyal had himself thrashed a group of 5 people before arresting them after he found them indulging in eve-teasing two scooty ridden females. He then got them arrested under section 151. This incident had gone viral on social media and a large number of citizens lauded the action by SP then.

For this initiative, lady patrol has been given special training in dealing with road romeos. A set of areas have been specially earmarked for critical patrolling. These areas include Rani Road, Jain Temple Sector 4, Chowdhary Hospital road, Fatehpura-Sukhadia circle road, back gate of MLSU campus, Pratapnagar and Bohra Ganeshji.
