To promote Road Safety & Awareness Week in an efficient manner, the state government has appointed the additional transport commissioner (Jaipur) Mukul Raj as the nodal officer of Udaipur.

To promote Road Safety & Awareness Week in an efficient manner, the state government has appointed the additional transport commissioner (Jaipur) Mukul Raj as the nodal officer of Udaipur.

Additional regional transport officer Prakash Singh Rathore informed that Mukul Raj will monitor and supervise the campaign at Gram Panchayat and Samiti level on 2nd October.

On the other side, the campaign started on 28th September saw cancellation of a license of a driver by the transport officer who was caught drinking and driving.

Additional Transport Officer further informed that 78 challans were made for lack of PUC and 45 fitness certificates were cancelled. Also, special checking is being conducted of school buses after which 5 buses have been confiscated. Besides this, 30 heavy vehicles were issued challans for overload.

At rural level, around 3000 vehicles were installed with 15,000 reflectors so that these can be easily identified on the highways and avoid accidents. 1700 vehicles at Pratap Nagar, Bhuwana, Sukher and Chitrakut Nagar have also been installed with reflectors by the traffic police.
