Rs. 49.20 Lac to be Spent on Beautification of Kamal Talai
After being neglected for almost a decade, Kamal Talai at Gulab Bagh will be refurbished soon. Stated a recent sanction of Rs. 49.20 lac for beautification work that includes, installation of fountains, marble structures and bridges. Gulab Bagh is the biggest garden of the city spread over 100 acres of land.
After being neglected for almost a decade, Kamal Talai at Gulab Bagh will be refurbished soon. Stated a recent sanction of Rs. 49.20 lac for beautification work that includes, installation of fountains, marble structures and bridges. Gulab Bagh is the biggest garden of the city spread over 100 acres of land.
Today, the first phase of beautification was inaugurated by a social worker, Chandra Singh Kothari and the Mayor, where the pond would be furnished with four marble structures of Elephants around it, including construction of two bridges and fountains about the pond.
In the information gathered from the department over the beautification work, the garden was under Water Works Department since long time and is recently handed over to Municipal Corporation. It is the first major alteration in the garden for its re-development.
Soon after the inauguration Rajni Dangi, Mayor instructed her officials to maintain due cleanliness in and around the garden, she also mentioned for the upkeep of its environmental resources.
Area Corporator Not Informed
Despite of all the good work, Mayor had to face cold reaction from the Corporator of the area, Archana Sharma. Sharma was unhappy for not being duly informed about the proposal of the place falling in her area; as a result the work at first phase was hindered by fellow Corporators of Archana Sharma.
In the words of Archana Sharma, “It is not for the first time that Mayor has started a project without informing respective Corporator of area, though I received a call from Corporation inviting me for the inauguration, but it did not mention any kind of construction work in her area”.
