SC/ST Officials Conducted Meeting for clearing forest-land Cases

In a meeting organized today at Zila Parishad Auditorium, Bherulal Meena (in photo) member of National SC & ST Commission asked Forest Department officials to clear all the pending cases related to plots in forest-land prior to 13th Dec, 2005 and to notify any hurdles coming in the same.

The meeting was directed towards solving those cases where the tribal people have acquired lands but are yet to get those registered. He also asked officials to inform such individuals about this and to prepare a proprietary form through which they can apply for the lands they have acquired.

He also took a note of progress on cases related to Salumbar and directed the officials to give a spot-check on the cases which are pending and to clear the same if they find the situation feasible to do so.

The meeting was attended by Hemant Gera, District Collector who said, “According to Forest Rights, the plots which have been acquired prior to 13th Dec, 2005, are being issued in form of plots to the same individuals if they have applied for proprietorship. But due to lack of awareness, many have not filed for proprietorship and so we have asked officials to prepare forms for such individuals”.

In the meeting, K.C. Meena, Forest Conservator and O.P. Sharma, Chief Forest Conservator informed about the status of progress in forest land plotting. B.R. Bhati, Additional Collector; Harshsawan Sukha, Additional Chief Officer, Zila Parishad; Kaluram Rawat, Additional SP and other related officials attended the meeting.
