State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), Udaipur teams rehearsed for disaster management to fight the possible disasters during monsoons. The teams rehearsed in Khelgaon swimming pool and Fatehsagar Lake with the necessary equipments.

The SDRF teams have received walkie-talkie equipments from Jaipur headquarter which were checked underwater. These equipments can function under water which will help the divers to communicate with the teams outside water. The process will be of extreme help to the underwater teams to locate the exact point which needs to be taken care of.  Oxygen cylinders which can last upto 15 minutes under water have also been made available.

Once the rehearsals are over, the teams will be divided for disaster relief management in various areas. 20 members will be sent to Banswara, 20 will be at Udaipur Collectorate, 20 at police lines, 10 each at Jhadol, Gogunda and Salumber. SDRF teams are regularly rehearsing diving, swimming and relief works which are required for disaster management during floods and emergencies. It may be noted that SDRF, Udaipur team has 72 jawans, 16 out of which have undergone vigorous high level training for deep diving conducted by Kolkata’s life saving society.
