Sec 144 imposed in Udaipur | Internet services suspended for 24 hours
Suspecting a law and order problems in Udaipur due to anti-social elements in the aftermath of the heinous murder of Afrazul, Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code has been imposed in the district from 8 pm on Wednesday evening till next order. The order was issued by District collector Bishnu Charan Mallik on Wednesday evening.

Divisional Commissioner Bhawani Singh Detha, then issued an order suspending internet services in Udaipur district for 24 hours. 2G, 3G and 4G data, Internet service, bulk SMS services etc also remain suspended. This suspension was again effective 8 pm Wednesday evening.
Further, entry of one Updesh Rana has also been banned in Udaipur. One of his video went viral wherein he claimed that he will reach Udaipur on Thursday and it is being suspected that his coming could lead to rise in communal tension in the city.
Imposition of Sec 144 means that there will be restrictions on conducting collective events and planning/staging dharna/demonstrations, roaming around with sharp weapons/sticks, making speeches etc. Strict legal action will also be initiated against people sending hate messages, images or videos.
