Udaipur has been allotted seven bridges among the 26 long span bridges that have been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak YOjna (PMGSY) in Rajasthan

Udaipur has been allotted 7 bridges among the 26 long span bridges that have been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak YOjna (PMGSY) in Rajasthan.

State PWD Minister Yunus Khan, in his statement to media said that the total cost approved for the 26 long span bridges in Rajasthan is Rs 161 crore sanctioned by the Union Rural Development Ministry.

This sanction was a result of the recommendations of the empowered committee, which had made in November 2017. Rajasthan’s share of Rs 161 crore has been broken down into Rs 44.56 crore, which will be spent by the Union Ministry while the balance Rs 116.59 crore will be shared by the state.

The other areas where the bridges will be constructed, include 12 in Baran district, 3 in Karauli and one each for Sri Ganganagar and Bundi, said the Minister.

Long standing construction projects include the over bridges on the railway line, Jhamarkotda and the Delhi Gate Udiapol flyover.   Source courtesy: PTI
