As agreed by MCU Chairperson in a meeting at collectorate last month, Municipal Council Udaipur will soon be announcing tenders for Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) to be installed at Ayad River. This plant would be removing plantation and solid waste within the river area.

Today, Rajni Dangi informed that under the STP project to be initiated by UIT (Urban Improvement Trust), various ground work are still to be carried out by several departments. Maintenance being work field of UMC, it would be looking after waste along with unwanted plantation in the river bed.

Along with the cleaning of Ayad River, Council will also be installing fencing over connecting channels of river namely Ghumaniya Nala and UIT Nala, so that it can put a check on commonly dumped solid waste.

Dangi added that tentative tender notice dates would be announced soon after internal budget is prepared. Situation will be clearer after the board meeting for the budget to be held on 22^ndFeb.

Project will start after the preparation of DPR (Daily Project Report) by an appointed consultant firm.
