Shaheed Smarak to get New Look

Under an initiative taken by the Municipal Council Udaipur (UMC), the Shaheed Smarak at Town Hall, Udaipur will be getting a new avatar as construction work for this has already started. The total investment earmarked for this initiative is around Rupees Eighty lac.
The Municipal Council of Udaipur, under this initiative, plans to renovate the around the Smarak, which is a twenty four thousand square feet campus. This will also include a small museum dedicated to all the martyrs of India, and is expected to take Eight to Ten months to get in shape.

Sources say that the maximum part of the land will be developed as a garden and the existing Martyr Tower will be re-constructed with Red Sand Stone to provide it with a heritage look.  It is also likely that a display of apparatus used in War.

Rajni Dangi, Chairperson, UMC said, “We have forwarded a letter to President expressing our initiative, the requirements to meet our needs and now are waiting for approval”.

Niraj Mathur, Executive Engineer, UMC said, “The museum will also be having a brief on the martyrs of both the pre and post-independence era and a dedicated parking space will also be provided alongside the park”.

According to sources at the UMC, this is a dedicated place for the martyrs, which was established in the year 1993.
