Traffic Relief: Shakti Nagar Road Expansion Path Cleared

Udaipur, April 14, 2026 - The administration’s efforts to clear chokepoints in the city and relieve people of traffic jams has moved another step forward following a resolution to the issue of opening the bottleneck at Shakti Nagar. This has been a long-standing issue surrounding one of the city’s most congested points. Finally, the State Government has issued orders to allocate plots to eight affected families, clearing the way for the road widening work after nearly three years.

With this decision, traffic pressure in the Surajpol area is expected to reduce significantly, bringing major relief to residents.

The Udaipur Nagar Nigam had proposed developing a 30-feet-wide road in the area and had acquired houses for this purpose. However, the project was stalled owing to delays in compensatory plot allocation with the file pending in the Jaipur Urban Development Department. Now, with official orders issued, the obstruction has been cleared.

As per the orders, four affected families will receive plots in Hiran Magri Sector 11 while another four will receive land within the Nagar Nigam premises. All beneficiaries will be required to deposit the differential amount as per rules.
