It was an utter distressing day for the shop owners of Varun Bazar when the anti-encroachment team of Udaipur Municipal Corporation accompanied with a large number of police force seized the 2-year-old shopping complex located at Bada Bazar.

As per UMC, the shopping complex Varun Bazar is illegally constructed on a residential property. But the shop keepers alleged political conspiracy behind the action. Whatever the reason, there is still a big question on why no action was taken during the time of construction?

More than 100 shops of Varun Bazar were seized and notice was pasted on it. A mild force was used to control the situation when shopkeepers started protesting against UMC.

Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari and other top officials of UMC were present during the process. As per statement of Mayor printed in local daily Madadgar, there were complaints about illegal construction of Varun Mall and the action taken today after verifying all details.
