Slum dwellers demand "Right to have House"
Hundreds of slum dwellers of the city gathered at Town Hall ground to attend the conference called by Communist Party of India under the banner of Avas Adhikar Sangarsh Manch, a local body struggling for underprivileged families who don’t own house.

The group protested and marched till collectorate chanting slogans against administration and demanded housing facilities. The protest and demonstration was called by Communist Party of India.
A memorandum was given to ADM City Mohammad Yaseen Pathan, in which, several demands were stated including proper housing facilities to slum dwellers and homeless people, without any corruption.
Rajesh Singhvi, communist party leader said, “They chose the day of protest before Republic Day to make the administration understand the right meaning of Republic.”
He added, “As on the day when the Republic of India was constituted, the leaders promised to give Roti-Kapda-Makaan-Rozgaar (Food, Cloth, House and Job) to every Indian citizen without any prejudice but today because of corruption and other socio-political crisis, the majority of Indians are living in poor condition.”
The protestors gave an ultimatum of 1 month and asked administration to take positive action, or they will be forced to protest violently.
