Udaipur, Feb 23, 2026: The Udaipur Nagar Nigam is introducing innovative initiatives to make the city’s small parks more attractive. Under the direction of Nigam Commissioner Abhishek Khanna, flower gardens are being developed, large trees being pruned using modern scientific techniques and beautification works such as organised hedges, lush green lawns and clean pathways are being carried out at a fast pace.

The primary objective of this initiative is not only to enhance the city's beauty but also to transform these parks into new tourist attractions.

According to Commissioner Khanna, Udaipur has many small parks that can be strategically developed to enhance tourism potential. With this vision, these parks are being designed around flower-themed concepts, making them ideal for photo shoots and short leisure visits.

In the first phase of redevelopment, these three parks have been selected:

  • Aravali Vatika
  • Guru Gobind Singh Park
  • Hedgewar Park

Comprehensive development work has been completed at all three locations. Attractive flower gardens have been created, large trees have been scientifically pruned for an aesthetic appearance, and well-maintained hedges, green lawns, and clean pathways have been developed. As a result, these parks have transformed into visually appealing destinations that are drawing both local visitors and tourists.

A growing number of domestic and international tourists are visiting these parks. Visitors are particularly impressed by the vibrant floral displays, manicured greenery, and organised layouts. Many tourists have described the experience as comparable to visiting international gardens. Travellers are capturing memorable moments and sharing them online, preserving their Lake City memories.

Commissioner Khanna said that tourists frequently share their travel photos on social media, inspiring others to visit those locations. These beautification initiatives are expected to significantly boost tourism in Udaipur, turning small parks into major attraction centres.

The Nagar Nigam plans to extend similar development works to other parks across the city in the coming months, further enhancing Udaipur’s beauty and tourism appeal.

For the successful implementation and maintenance of these projects, special responsibilities have been assigned to Executive Engineer Akhil Goyal, Assistant Engineer Sunil Prajapat and Junior Engineer Monika Chaudhary.

The Commissioner emphasised that the objective is not only development but also regular maintenance to ensure that these parks remain well-maintained and attractive throughout the year.
