Smart Dreams Pvt Ltd,  a company involved in the manufacture of specialized machinery has submitted a proposal to the Udaipur Municipal Corporation for plying electronic bus service in the city.

As per Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, the company’s proposal to manage the services has been accepted pending a free 15 day trial in the city.  The route on which this service will ply will be Fatehpura – Sukhadia Circle – Chetak Circle – Collectorate – Delhi Gate – Town Hall – Surajpol – Sevashram – Hiran Magri – Paras Circle – Patel Circle – Udiapol and back via Surajpol.

Mayor Kothari said that the 40feet long Air Conditioned low floor bus will call cost Rs. 3 Crore.  The Bus will have special seating facility for the physically disabled and will be equipped with CCTV cameras.  The driver will manage the hydraulic doors of the bus.  The operating cost of the bus will be minimal with the electronic battery expected to work for 4000 cycles, which is approximately 13 years.

The date of commencement of the free service for the public will be announced shortly, said the Mayor.
