Udaipur has been ranked third out of 60 cities in terms of performance related to Smart City project. This was revealed in ranking by Central Urban Development Ministry. Udaipur was ranked 4th in the last rankings.

In a function organised in Jaipur yesterday, Dr Manjit Singh, Principal Secretary, Local Self Government, Govt of Rajasthan said that Udaipur has again put up a stellar show and has been ranked third in the country and topped Rajasthan State ranking. Jaipur ranked second in Rajasthan and 12th overall in the country.

One of the biggest achievements of the Udaipur Smart City Company was the closure of the Rs 537 Cr ABD project for 18 wards falling under the walled city. This led to a sharp rise in performance of Udaipur in the ranking.

Works already initiated / completed under Udaipur’s Smart City Mission include Open air Gym, Smart Class room, Solar panels, Command and Control Centre, Sanitary Vending machine, Smart Card launching and e-rickshaws.
