Smart City: Rs 537 Cr tender cleared for changing face of Walled City

18 wards falling under the walled city will soon get a complete facelift. A tender towards major work to be undertaken as part of Smart City project was finalised at Rs 537 Cr in the Board meeting of the Smart City Company yesterday.

18 wards falling under the walled city will soon get a complete facelift. A tender towards major work to be undertaken as part of Smart City project was finalised at Rs 537 Cr in the Board meeting of the Smart City Company yesterday.

A combined tender for complete development of walled city was quoted at Rs 785 Crores. After negotiation by Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari and Smart City CEO Siddharth Sihag, the quote was brought down to Rs 549 Cr. This was finally negotiated and agreed upon in yesterday’s meeting at Rs 537 Cr.

With finalisation of the tender, work order is soon expected to be issued and work expected to being shortly thereafter.

The following works are expected to be undertaken in walled city: 24 hour drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, improved sewerage condition and duct system for taking all types of cables underground and improved road condition.

The Board meeting was chaired by Dr Manjit Singh, Principal Secretary, Local Self Government, Govt of Rajasthan and attended by District collector, Mayor, UIT Chairman, UMC Commissioner and members of smart city board.
