Udaipurites will soon have another reason to be happy.  The city is soon to have Solar boats for Fatehsagar and Pichola.  As of now, solar boats are being operated in Badi lake only.  Fatehsagar and Pichola have boats which run on petrol that will soon be replaced by solar boats. This is being done on the firm orders of High Court.

RTDC contractor will have a Solar system installed at Fatehsagar lake.  One boat with solar system will also be operated in Lake Pichola.  Two hotel groups have made arrangements to install solar system on the boats currently operating in Pichola.  Since it is not possible to run the speed boats on solar system, they will be operated on petrol only.  Transport department has issued instructions to hotel groups and government agencies for this purpose. Once the solar boats are operated, the lake will face less pollution, which is happening due to boat fuel and be cleaner in future and the aquatic creatures will also be safe.

Gas boats

Fatehsagar will also have boats running on gas. Boat operation firm MM travels opposite Fatehsagar Chowpati has started the process of installing gas kits in 4 boats. Probably these boats will start operating from next week.
