Udaipur, April 23, 2025 - In a major move to enhance road safety, the police have started taking action against speeding vehicles using speed guns. During a recent campaign, several drivers were caught violating speed limits and were issued challans (fines) on the spot.
Under the directives of senior police officials, traffic teams have been deployed on highways and in accident-prone areas where vehicle speeds are being monitored using speed guns.
Currently, Udaipur has two such speed gun devices. Yesterday, April 22, fines were issued to four-wheelers, three-wheelers and two-wheelers found speeding.
The objective of this initiative is to reduce road accidents and raise awareness among people about safe driving. The public has been urged to strictly follow traffic rules and drive within speed limits.
According to the police, over-speeding is a major cause of road accidents and with the help of modern technology like speed guns, immediate action can now be taken against such drivers. .
Udaipur police have said that this campaign will continue on a regular basis.
