State Govt announces Relief Package for farmers

The state government announced relief package to those farmers whose crops got damaged in the recent hailstorm that occurred between 12th to 15th March. In Rajasthan, around 4,400 villages in 21 districts will be covered in the package, including Udaipur.

The state government announced relief package to those farmers whose crops got damaged in the recent hailstorm that occurred between 12th to 15th March. In Rajasthan, around 4,400 villages in 21 districts will be covered in the package, including Udaipur.

Under the package, financial aid will be provided at the rate of Rs. 4500 per hectare for non-irrigated land and Rs. 9000 per hectare for irrigated land where the damage is over 50%. Also, Rs. 12000 per hectare will be provided to the land with perennial crops.

According to the release, the farmers with over 50% crop damage will be exempted from Abhiyana Tax collected by the irrigation dept.

In Udaipur, after a survey report, 50% damage of crops was assessed in over 31 panchayats. In the majority of the farms, spogel crop or isabgol crops were completely damaged. At other places, the crop was damaged from 25-90%.
