State Minister Rinwa visits Mewar Biodiversity Park

State Minister of Forest, Environment and Mines Rajkumar Rinwa inspected the Mewar Biodiversity Park that is being developed at Udaipur Division.

 

State Minister Rinwa visits Mewar Biodiversity Park

State Minister of Forest, Environment and Mines Rajkumar Rinwa inspected the Mewar Biodiversity Park that is being developed at Udaipur Division.

Forest Conservator (north) Om Prakash Sharma informed that the park is developed for over 165 hectares of land with the help of funds allocated by Rajasthan Biodiversity Board, Jaipur. The park boasts of 63 types of trees, 117 varieties of herbs, 38 types of grass, 33 types of shrubs, 16 types of mammals, 17 varieties of reptiles, 55 bird species, 7 types of frogs and 19 types of insects etc. The park also has a wide land of sandalwood trees growing in its premises.

Minister Rinwa asserted that the forest department should develop such kinds of areas to boost tourism in the city.

Forest Conservator informed Rinwa about the activities taken up by the rural community such as extracting aloe vera juice for manufacturing of gel and shampoos, manufacturing herbal gulal, incense sticks, honey, extracting custard apple pulp etc. Many forest department officials and workers were present during minister’s visit.
