State’s First Gyane-Nephro ICU Unit inaugurated at MB Hospital
Rajasthan’s first Gyane-Nephro ICU Unit was inaugurated today by Gulab Chand Kataria (State Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj) in a function held at Maternity Hospital of MB Hospital.

The ICU unit is installed by Hindustan Zinc in association with Rotary Club Mewar. With this new addition, patients will now able to get free dialysis.
While addressing the function, Gulabchand Kataria said, “The ICU unit will definitely help the patients of MB Hospital. Rajasthan Government will construct 85 Lakh toilets and till the year 2017-18 no village will lack toilets. On the same perception, Hindustan Zinc has also initiated its ‘Maryada’ campaign to build 30 thousand toilets, out of which 1000 are already constructed.”
Gulabchand Kataria also announced help of Rs.20 Lakh for R.O Plant to be installed by Rotary Club Mewar at MB Hospital.
Akhilesh Sharma, CEO of Hindustan Zinc said, “No project could be termed as small or big, every project has its own importance. Hindustan Zinc has initiated two different projects including Sakhi- to educate women of rural areas and Maryada – constructing toilets in villages.”
Representing Rotary Club, Hansraj Choudhary (project coordinator) informed that the company that provided the dialysis machine has done the CMC agreement of 10 years. He also announced to take care of cleanliness of this particular section.
Hansraj Choudhary announced that Rotary Club will provide Rs.1/liter R.O water plant at City Railway Station and MB Hospital.
Informing more about the execution of the project, Dr. Mukesh Badjatya (President of Nephrology Department) said, “HZL has contributed with Rs.25 Lakh while Rotary Club Mewar has added Rs. 10 Lakh. Dr. Rajrani Sharma (President of Maternity Hospital) helped in the construction of the ward which led the successful foundation of ICU Unit.”
This is the first Nephrology ICU Unit and second advanced dialysis machine in the state. The machine was installed a month ago and until now, three female patients of kidney failure were saved through dialysis. 50 patients of Kidney Failure are receiving dialysis everyday in Nephrology Ward.
HZL CSR Project Coordinator C.S.R Mehta, Hospital Superintendent Dr. A.K Khare, Hospital President Dr. Rajrani Sharma, Vedanta Group’s Pawan Kaushik , Mavli MLA Dalichand Dangi and many other renowned persons were present on the occasion.
