Members of ‘Thela Vyavasayi Ekta Union’ along with Corporator, Rajesh Singhvi handed over a Memorandum to Collector, asking them to take appropriate action against the eradication of Roadside Vendors under the name of ‘Encroachment Less City’ drive.
As the Collector was not available in office; the ADM City, Mohd. Yaseen Pathan asked the Members to present the Memorandum to Mayor Rajni Dangi, as the concerned matter falls under UMC.
Members of the Union pointed in the Memorandum that, “Supreme Court has already issued the order to provide licence to roadside vendors, to continue making their living from their profession; but still the government authorities are forcing them to leave their place under the name of encroachment.”
They said that, “It was clearly mentioned in the order by Supreme Court that under the condition of removing any vendor from its current location, they should be provided an alternative location plus the license which has to be issued is yet to be given to them.”
They asked the Collector to form a Street Vendor Committee and issue license to vendors of their current location in four months.
