Around 10 km away from the city, the construction work of Suka Naka Bridge is nearing completion with 90% work already done. Presently, the approach road construction is in momentum.

According to the authorities of UIT who are handling the project, if the rate of work is maintained, then the bridge will be completed this monsoon.

Given that the government work is subjected to delays, this bridge is stating an example. According to the tender term, the work was to get completed in 11 months (in November) however; the bridge has seen 90% of completion in mere 7 months and is expected to be completed in the next 1.5 months.

It is to consider that the capacity of Udaisagar is 24 ft and with volume of 22 ft already, the Suka Naka submerges due to backwater. This problem prevails for the next 4 months in which villages such as Matun, Kharbadiya and Jhamar Kotda etc. get totally disconnected from the city.
