‘Swachata’ drive now mandate for Government Offices

PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachata Abhiyan’ is now one step ahead after the state government issued orders for it to be made mandatory for the government offices to follow the cleanliness drive at the respective departments.

All the government offices primarily related to public dealings like municipal corporations, UIT, hospitals etc. will have to maintain cleanliness in and out their premises and those found violating the rules, may have to pay the penalty. The authorities in the offices are being asked to strictly adhere to the rule.

Under this mandate, every department has to ensure that there is no spitting on the wall, adequate dustbins for disposal of waste, toilets are cleaned daily and the premises are kept clean. HoDs are required to see that the cleaning staff is working specifically at the places were uncleanliness is a permanent feature.

A divisional level monitoring committee has been provisioned which would hold surprise visits to these offices to supervise and monitor the order being followed. A detailed report will be sent to the government on monthly basis.

Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari added that each department’s head would be instructed to contribute in the cleanliness drive actively and make it an integral part of daily life.
