'Think-Eat-Save': Seminar on World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, today, Udaipur Forest Department and Vidhya Bhawan Society jointly organized a seminar at Vidhya Bhawan Environment Habituate Center located in Badgaon area on the theme-“Think-Eat-Save”.

Today in the seminar, renowned environmentalists participated and discussed the ever increasing risk to environment. I.P.S Matharu, Deputy Conserver (North), Forest Department, initiated the discussion and said, “It is the duty of every individual to save the environment”.

His address was followed by other speakers from various social groups, suggesting that change in eating habits and culture had played a vital role in polluting environment.

K.K. Garg, Chief Conserver, District Forest Department, showed concern towards reduction in forest land. Garg said that rapid de-forestation is dangerous for wild life and rare species of plants. He also said that high use of fertilizers and chemicals affect quality of food products and fertility of soil.

Riyaz Tehsin, President, Vidhya Bahwan Society, informed that Environment Habituate Center was established nearly 60 years ago. It is spread over 400 acre of land and it is a home for a wide species of plants, animals and birds. Tehsin stressed on the limited use of natural resources.
