Toll tax exemption ended by Rajasthan government

The toll exemption was lifted at 12 midnight on Thursday and private vehicles will now have to pay toll tax at Rajasthan state highways.

Private vehicles are now required to pay toll tax at state highway.  

Private vehicles will from now on pay taxes at the toll plazas at Rajasthan state highway. The old rates of taxes are once again to be levied at 143 toll plazas. The taxes will be paid at the rate of 30 to 55 rupees at every toll plaza. It may be noted that the step of exemption of tax for private vehicles at the toll plazas in Rajasthan was taken by the BJP government in April last year. The state transport minister that the former government took this step keeping in view the assembly elections last year. Now since the roads are damaged and need immediate repair, the exemption has been lifted. 

It is also being said that the many opponent parties are moving out to protest against this decision. As informed, the decision is not in favour of general public and needs to be taken off.
