Dinesh MN, ex-SP of Udaipur and one of the best cops that the city has seen, was recognized for his caliber by the State Government and has been promoted to Inspector General of Police.

Dinesh, who is a 1995,batch IPS Officer, has been in the news for over a decade now for his involvement and heroics in the Sohrabuddin Fake Encounter case.

However, since Dinesh is currently under trial over his alleged involvement and supposed accusations in the above mentioned case, he will not be able to get all the grade benefits till the case against him is cleared and he is acquitted of all charges against him.

He has secured both the DIG and IG grades simultaneously and his grade is active retrospectively from 9th May 2014.
