Shri Ji Arvind Singh Mewar’s Last Journey: Udaipur Traffic Updates

The final journey of the departed leader of the erstwhile royal family of Mewar will commence today at 11:00 am; traffic movement will be affected on the route of the procession until it has passed through 

 
Shri Ji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur Passes Away

Udaipur, March 17, 2025 - Umesh Ojha, Additional Police Superintendent, City Udaipur, has informed that the “antim darshan” of Shri Ji Arvind Singh Ji Mewar, who passed away yesterday in Udaipur, will be held from 07:00 am to 11:00 am at Shambhu Niwas, Udaipur City Palace. The antim yatra of the departed head of the erstwhile royal family of Mewar will commence today at 11:00 am from Shambhu Niwas, City Palace, and will pass through Badi Pol, Jagdish Chowk, Ghanta Ghar, Bada Bazaar, Delhi Gate and finally to Mahasatia.

Around 4,000-5,000 people are expected to participate in the funeral procession. VIPs and dignitaries from the Mewar region plus the general public will join in the last darshan and final journey.

The traffic diversion for the procession will be managed by Traffic Police DSP Ashok Anjana. The traffic arrangements will be as follows from 07:00 am until the completion of the final procession:

Parking Arrangements

  • Visitors attending the last darshan at City Palace will enter through the Kala Ji Goraji Rangniwas Tourist Police Station Sitla Mata Gate.
  • Vehicles parked inside the City Palace will exit via the Doodh Talai Gate and through Pala Ganesh Ji Kishanpol.
  • Four-wheel vehicles will park at Pala Ganesh Ji parking, Gulab Bagh parking and Hemraj Ji's Akhada inside the City Palace.
  • Two-wheel vehicles will park at Gulab Bagh parking and Hemraj Ji’s Akhada.
  • Vehicles parked at Pala Ganesh Ji Parking, Gulab Bagh parking and Hemraj Ji’s Akhada can exit through Pala Ganesh Ji Kishanpol.

Route of Final Procession

The final procession will start from Shambhu Niwas, City Palace, passing through Badi Pol, Jagdish Chowk, Ghanta Ghar, Bada Bazaar, Bhadbhujha Ghat, Delhi Gate, Shastri Circle, Ayad Pulia and will end at Mahasatia. Therefore, after 11:00 am vehicle movement on both sides of the procession route will be restricted until it has passed through.

Route Diversion

For the duration of the procession, entry of four-wheelers and three-wheeler vehicles will be prohibited on the following routes:

  1. From the Tourist Police Station to Jagdish Chowk.
  2. From Chandpole Gate to Jagdish Chowk.
  3. From Hathipol towards Ghanta Ghar.
  4. From Mukherjee Chowk towards Bada Bazaar.
  5. From Mandi Chowk towards Bhadbhujha Ghat.
  6. From Tija ka Chowk towards Bhadbhujha Ghat and Kamal Band Gali.
  7. From Mandi Gate towards Tija ka Chowk.
  8. From Mandi Chowk towards Tija ka Chowk.

Further Restrictions

During the movement of the procession, vehicles will be prohibited on both sides of the following routes:

  1. From Hathipol to Delhi Gate.
  2. From Court Chauraha to Delhi Gate.
  3. From Surajpol to Delhi Gate.
  4. From Court Chauraha to Shastri Circle.
  5. From Shastri Circle to Baans Gali.
  6. From Shakti Nagar to Mataji Cut.
  7. From Durga Nursery Tiraha to Shastri Circle.
