This service of transportation is for the rural people who used to travel to the city for work, in private buses.
The program is a part of one of the promises of the Gehlot’s manifesto; city of lakes, Udaipur became the witness and the first city in Rajasthan for such a beneficiary program which would be implemented across the State in the upcoming days.
10 buses from Udaipur were given green signal by the Minister, after the ceremonial ritual.
Some traits of the Scheme
The buses have ETM ticket service, with the fare charges list attached to it. The scheme will work upon the Public Private Partnership, whereby if the operator incurs a loss, then the State Government will reimburse the operator. Govt. recognized Medal Recipients, Disabled and People Suffering from Severe Disease and likewise, 17 categories have been reserved, so that these people can use the service for free.
Buses will start on time
CMD (Rajasthan Road Transport Corporation) Dr. Manjeet Singh informed that 200 busses will start within a month. He said the main feature of this scheme is that, even if there is only one passenger, the bus will start on time and leave for the destination.
He said that private bus owners don’t pick up their bus until and unless the bus is overflowed with the rural people risking their lives; he said that this new scheme will control such practices as well as increase punctuality.
In the inaugural program, besides Beniwal, MP Raguveer Meena, MLA Basanti Devi Meena, MLA Sajjan Katara, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Mangi lal Garasiya and many administrative dignitaries were present.
Earlier at Durbar Hall of City Palace, Beniwal also inaugurated ‘Online Jamabandi Yojna’ and also gave awards to the Collectors of different Districts for working on E-Governance.
