To install underground fiber optic cables in the city, 7 Trencher machines have been deployed under the joint association of administration and a private company.

The project is currently running in many areas of city including Hiran Magri and Ambavgarh.

“The project is supposed to be of 2 years duration, where the fiber optic cables will be laid in the specific areas,” informed a local contractor.

The trencher machines, which individually cost in crores is designed by an Italian Company, TESMEC and every machine is currently operating under the supervision of technicians who came from the company to assist local engineers.

“The machine can cut any dimension, specification and depths. We just need to set the appropriate toolset. Right now, the need is to cut specific width and depth and that is what the toolset is set for. Else the trencher can do many other specifications as well,” said one of the Italian technicians.
