Curfew in Udaipur will be imposed between 6pm till 6am from 10 April till 30 April. This order, which has come from the Chief Ministers office late in the evening today, overrides the curfew hours imposed by the District Collector last week, which had kept the curfew hours from 8pm onwards. Udaipur, which was one of the more controlled districts in the state and an example of control and discipline, has been identified as high risk in the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking cogniscance of the worsening COVID situation in the City of Lakes, the orders from the CMO follow a day long meeting the CM had held with all the District Collectors today. Udaipur is paying the price for indiscipline and negligence over the last month.
Strict Lockdown in Containment Zones in Udaipur
While the curfew time has been changed for Udaipur, the instructions from the Chief Ministers office further says that the District Collector has to ensure that zero mobility in the highly infected zones in the city be adhered to across 24 hours. Accordingly, no movement will be allowed in the infected zones in Udaipur. All institutions, shops, religious establishments, gymnasiums will remain closed. No marriage or other events involving public gatherings will be permitted. These containment area restrictions will be effective till 22 April. Standard Operating Procedures for contact tracing, home isolation and testing will be implemented with maximum strictness.
